Enhanced Learning Credit (ELC) Scheme

If you are a current or former member of the Armed Forces and want to study our DevOps Foundation® qualification, why not take advantage of the MOD’s Enhanced Learning Credits (ELC) scheme?

Designed to encourage life-long learning for current military personnel and qualifying veterans, you can claim credits towards the cost of the DevOps course.

This means the MOD-funded scheme can offer you financial support of between £1,000 to £2,000 per financial year (for up to three years), depending on your length of service.

To qualify for funding credits for our DevOps course, you must have served in the Armed Forces for a minimum of six years and you must be a registered ELC Scheme Member.

Oxford College of Technology is an approved training provider of ELC. You can find out more about the application process by visiting ELCAS – Enhanced Learning Credits Administration Services.

What funding is available and do I qualify?

Your length of service with the Armed Forces determines your level of ELC entitlement.

Funding is generally broken into two tiers:

Lower Tier: if you have served at least six years in the Armed Forces, you can claim a maximum of £1,000 per year (up to three separate financial years).

Higher tier: if you have served at least eight years in the Armed Forces, you can claim up to £2,000 per year (up to three separate financial years).

Certain Armed Forces veterans also qualify. You may be eligible to make a claim for credits for up to 10 years, up to a leave date of 1 April 2016.

For more information about your claim expiration date, you should read JSP 822.

Please note: the ELC scheme will only fund up to a maximum of 80% of the full cost of our DevOps Foundation course. Contact ELCAS directly to confirm your precise funding allowance.

How do I claim my ELC funding?

If you meet the minimum Armed Forces service time requirements to qualify, you will then need to register with the ELC scheme. Get in touch with your authorised Education Staff to receive your Claim Authorisation Note (CAN).

Contact us with your CAN, then we will arrange for you to pay the remaining 20% of your course fee balance and then you can get underway with your studies.
